Last weekend I hosted a "Tag Party" with our swapping group.  Each of us created gift tags for swapping, then we made this box at the party.  Everyone picked their own papers and embellishments, so I choose Cosmo Cricket's 2007 christmas line and various other items from the crop room stash for embellishments.  This was such fun we've decided to make it an annual event!!

It's Civic Duty Day,It's Civic Duty Day,It's Civic Duty Day,It's Civic Duty Day,It's Civic Duty Day.....(humming Howdy Doody).  There's all those reasons to go vote today....your forfathers fought , women were jailed, some countries don't get a choice....but the number 1 reason......FREE coffee at Starbucks and donuts at Krispy Kreme!!  What more could a girl want?

Have you ever seen a picture and immediately knew you just had to do a layout with it?  I was cruisin' my facebook friend's photos recently and saw three such photos.  I was so inspired I could barely sleep.  It took some searching to find just the right paper and I really struggled with the lettering, but in the end I'm very happy with the final product.

icon10/31/2008 - Halloweening

Halloween used to be a wonderfully fun time at my house.  For a good month before the date we would begin planning our costumes and how we would all match as we tromped thru the neighborhood.  My kids always looked forward to the night and all the special goodies they would get (Mom and Dad loved it too...we just HAD to check out what they got and eat any questionable items...just in case).  There were several favorites, the sample lady down the street from Grandmas, the "Rich" neighborhood that gave out full sized chocolate bars.....

Sadly now the girls are grown and there aren't any grand babies yet to play with, so I have to spend my time making up cute little goodie bags to hand out to all the kids that come knocking!!

I thought this one was pretty cute.

So, I've been in a scrapbooking "funk" for a bit, so I decided I would spend the weekend playing.  It seems like I'm always planning some workshop or completing a swap or something that is business related and not for fun.  I wanted to use some of my stuff that was NOT Close To My Heart to see if perhaps I could get inspired again.  Managed to complete two projects....here is one that has been staring me in the face for quite some time.

I love the way it turned out.  My inspiration piece was the photo of Danyelle and Audry on the block with no embellishments.  I was searching for a way to highlight that photo on something other than a layout.

I didn't quite acheive my goal as quite a bit of the product is CTMH.  The background and chipboard paper is one of Basic Grey's retired packs - "gasp" yes, I cut into the paper.  The chipboard alphabets are random companies that I dug out of our various jars.  Stazon white ink for stamping on the blocks.  Everything else is Close To My Heart.

When this was complete I was inspired so much I did a layout of Danyelle in her Halloween costume for this year.  I'll add a photo when I get one taken...  It's plenty cute and I am pleased with it also!!
